Mandy Eve-Barnett, a local author and community advocate for arts & culture, brings her imaginative and informative contribution to our conference with her presentation on building characters – Canadian-style! Mandy has published four books and is a freelance writer.
Workshop 3: Travel Canada — Writing Trip Tips — presented by Tim Querengesser
Tim Querengesser is an Edmonton-based journalist and head of the Edmonton Wayfinding Project, whose work has appeared in the Globe and Mail, Up Here, the National Post, and many other publications – Tim joins us for the first time with his session on travel writing.
Workshop 4: Canadian Poetry — presented by Shirley Serviss
Capture your country through word pictures in a variety of poetic styles. Poems by Canadian writers will be used to inspire you. No previous experience in poetry writing necessary. Shirley is a WFSC conference favorite having presented many times at our events with her fabulous poetic style and creative input. Shirley has published three collections of poetry. She works as the staff literary Artist on the Wards for the Friends of the University Hospital and teaches writing workshops through the City of Edmonton.
