Words in the Park 2017

On Saturday, September 30, 2017, the annual Words in the Park event was held at Spark Gallery in Sherwood Park during the Alberta Culture Days weekend.

Over 32 authors authors attended. There were several book launches, an author readings corner, art displays, music, Scottish dance, food, interactive sessions, kids’ activities, and an appearance by Choo Choo the clown. The book fair and sale included a free prize draw.

Check out the slide show and video below!

This special event celebrated the 10th anniversary of Alberta Culture Days and Writers’ Foundation of Strathcona Country as well as Canada’s 150th anniversary with the release of this unique book: POSTCARDS FROM CANADA (Dream Write Publishing).

Many thanks to Strathcona County Library for the pick of the week and to Mandy Eve-Barnett for the wonderful review of BEYOND THE PRECIPICE.

Did you know that we run a review page in the Sherwood Park News twice a month? Here’s yesterday’s page [Sept. 26, 2017], which featured four Strathcona County authors — just in time for this weekend’s Words in the Park event.

About Eva Blaskovic

I am a multi-genre author of literary fiction and fantasy, and writer of non-fiction articles on parenting, writing, education, health, and travel. My background encompasses both the sciences and the arts. I teach at a specialized clinic for learning difficulties and mentor young authors. In addition to writing and teaching, my passions are weather, Indian food, gardening, and music. I have played eight musical instruments and spent many years immersed in taekwondo and karate. In my youth, I was an avid canoeist. I was born in Prague, Czech Republic, grew up in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Alberta in 1988, where I raised four children.
