Day 30: Today’s Writing Song

Check out the Aurora Borealis (Norther Lights) seen in the Edmonton area last night! (Below.)

I Ran (So Far Away) by A Flock of Seagulls has been a long-time favourite. The extended version allows a writer to escape into a world of creation. Phrases like “a beam of light comes shining down on you” and “Aurora Borealis comes in view” inspire a sci-fi element.

The pace and rhythm of this song also make it perfect for running and other aerobic exercises, as well as free-weight and repetition workouts.

Speaking of Aurora Borealis, this picture was taken last night in Sherwood Park, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, by Kelsey Hoople.

The sky was so beautiful last night. #northernlights #skyart #takeamoment ❤
