H is for Hope and Humanity | #AtoZChallenge

The element of hope makes even the darkest, saddest stories compelling and memorable. Hope gives humans the will to go on in the face of adversity.

Stories that carry a glimmer of hope amidst devastation in all its forms make readers feel that the book, movie, or video was worth their time and emotional investment.

Viggo Mortensen says that viewers of The Road, one of the bleakest post-apocalyptic movies in existence, have stated, “I saw this movie. It broke my heart, but it also put my heart back together in a way I hadn’t expected, by the end.”

Breaking Benjamin’s music video for Ashes of Eden also inspires a sense of hope, perhaps because of the strength of the love, the sacrifice, and the magnitude of time involved.

I think this is one of the most beautiful videos ever made.
