Day 12: Today’s Christmas Song

In honour of what would have been my grandfather’s 117th birthday, today’s Christmas song is a Czech carol: Chtíc, aby spal (posted by majasko). The song is performed by Helena Vondráčková, a well-known Czech singer with a beautiful voice, born in Prague, whose career spans five decades.

This music video is from 1969, so it has a distinct late Sixties flavour. Unfortunately, this is a short version (1:55). I own a longer version of the song (3:34), purchased from iTunes several years ago (Vánoce s Helenou, 2001).
